Brooke spent considerably more than $100 on this program but feels the cost can be kept down by giving less expensive gifts to the artists and serving inexpensive food. Pre-sizing the covers ahead of giving them to the artists was very helpful and ensured the drawings would be within the correct size for each book. She did this program over the summer so kids had time to work on the artwork and then hosted the reception in the fall. She then marked the spines of each restored book with pink label.
