I contacted our local Home Depot to offer their popular in-store how-to demos at our library. (Any local craftsman/journeyman/building supply center could do the same.) They brought three of their most popular presentations and offered to host a Kids Workshop, too. Advertising in our 21 libraries, 27 city rec centers, local government TV channel and traditional media outlets, we attracted 250 participants. Home Depot supplied primary supervision of the Kids event with library personnel assisting. FYI, the ceramic tile class drew a huge, attentive crowd. Check with your local home improvement stores |
